Fischer Speedmax Skate Plus

Fischer presents the next generation of race skis and winner of the ISPO Award 2013: the new SPEEDMAX SKATE was chosen as the WINNER of the ISPO AWARD in the cross country category by an independent jury of experts from around 350 entries.

Everybody knows that Fisher's Carbonlite Hole has been the most successful ski in World Cup history. Well, Fischer has done it again with the new Speedmax. Imagine the Carbonlite with a better base. In the Speedmax, Cold Base Bonding Technology creates a base that has not been damaged by the traditional process of using heat and compression during the application process. As a result, the Speedmax base is more porous allowing waxes to penetrate deeply thus lasting longer. As Peter Ashley, president of Fischer USA says, "The Speedmax stays faster longer" during races.

Fischer Carbonlite Skating Hole 2013-14

The 13-14 HOLE ski has a new look but maintains all of its previous attributes that make it the most successful ski in World Cup history (though the new Speedmax could be on its heels...Yikes!). The Hole reduces the crucial tip weight by 5 grams. You laugh but the difference can be felt. Less energy is needed every time you return the ski after the push off. A little adds up to a lot in the course of a 50K and makes skiing a little more efficient regardless of distance.

ADVANTAGES OF THE HOLE:

  • Requires less effort
  • Less energy loss
  • Smoother flow
  • More exact skate strides
  • Higher stride frequency
  • Faster Speeds

To guarantee the fastest ski possible, Carbonlites get a factory wax immediately after the best diamond tuned grind and race finish in the business. This wax protects the bases from oxidizing from the time they are made to the time of your purchase. The latest generation Computer Flex Control examines each ski individually for pre-tension, residual tension, camber pressure, height and length. The resulting ski-pairing process ensures the highest level of matching. No one does it better than Fischer! Compared the the RCS Skating that you know and love, the Carbonlite has a longer open pocket at half body weight. This increases stability in firmer conditions and puts more spring into each push off. Fisccher has teamed up with Rottefella and offers many of their skis including the Carbonlite with the revolutionary factory bonded NIS biding plate. The Xcelerator NNN bindings slide onto this plate creating a more solid interface between binding and ski (more power transfer and control). The binding can be adjusted in one of now seven positions, personalizing the ski's behavior. This is great for those of you that have NNN boots. If not it may be time to switch. The Carbonlites also come in the traditional flat deck. Either way you get a ski with the highest technological advancements that will translate into more speed and control. The Carbonlites are offered in either a Plus Base or a Cold Base. The Plus base is considered the most universal.

Fischer RCS Carbonlite Skating Soft Track Hole Ski 2012/13

THE CARBONLITE SKATING SOFT TRACK HOLE SKI is a ski designed specifically for soft/wet conditions. The special camber profile reduces the surface tension in the tip and tail allowing the ski to glide over not through soft or wet snow. Comes with the World Cup Plus Base and the NNN NIS binding plate only. The camber profile of this ski is the same as the RCS Skating that you know and love and has proven itself over and over again on the world cup. Of course the Carbonlite Hole is the new sheriff in town.

With World Cup Gold the HOLE has proven itself. This technology raises the bar in ski technology, bringing to the market a new skating ski with the lowest mass inertia of any skating ski ever produced. The HOLE reduces the crucial tip weight by 5 grams. You laugh but the difference can be felt. Less energy is needed every time you return the ski after push off. A little adds up to a lot in the course of a 50k. The result is increased efficiency with each stride.

ADVANTAGES OF THE HOLE SKI:

  • Less energy loss

Fischer RCR Skating VASA

The RCR represents the most phenomenal value in race skis. They feature top racing technologies including Air Core contsruction, CFC for the ultimate in a pair of skis being identically matched, two flex options, and the same world cup sidecut found on the top end Carbonlite Skate Skis. The World Cup Pro Base (a cross between the Cold and the Plus base) gets Fischer's amazing diamond tuned base finish. Just like the Carbonlite models the RCR bases are waxed immediately after the grinding process, preventing the dreaded base oxidation. The skis actually get faster instead of slower. The RCR skis come with the revolutionary factory bonded NIS binding plate. The NIS NNN Skate bindings slide onto this plate with the ability to adjust it in one of seven positions, allowing you to personalize the skis behavior. And yes we can and we do mount the Salomon bindings on this ski in the traditional way by drilling and screwing. If you are not quite ready to spend the big bucks on a top end model or it is out of your budget this is absolutely the ski you should buy. Look no further!

Rossignol X-IUM Skate

The 12/13 Xium Skating WCS had a make over but kept all the same great qualities they are known for. It has a low profile Carbon Tip, reducing swing weight in the most significant place. The Tip and Tail Flex easily to float and glide freely over the bumps - no hinging effect, or as Rossi says 'snake like'. This new ski is rigid where it needs to be to resist twist thus making the ski run straight and providing power to the kick. The Honeycomb Structure along with the 3D Torsion Box keeps the ski strong, light and supple. The Honeycomb interior also helps the base to remain flat after repeated hot wax applications. Foam core skis distort more easily. The double base groove gives superior directional stability. This ski comes with the innovative NIS binding plate that allows you to change the binding position to personalize the ski's on-snow behavior as well as giving more power transfer and stability. If you are a looking to add the competitive edge to your weekend races this ski will not dissapoint!. This ski comes in a WCS S1 and S2. The S1 version is designed with a stiffer flex and high camber height ideal for high-speed, hard-snow conditions. The S2 version is designed with a universal flex and camber height ideal for all snow conditions.

Rossignol Delta Skating Course NIS

At only 40 grams more per pair than Rossignol's flag ship the Xium Skating skis, the NEW DELTA COURSE NIS SKATING will be a podium contender from the get go. Rossignol didn't cut any corners. It has a honeycomb core that keeps the ski light and responsive. No foam in this core. Just like the Xium's the Delta comes in the same lengths and has the same Cobra sidecut. It also has the same K7000 base and base grind and a full length carbon top sheet. You will get World Cup performance and save well over a $100 in the process. (I know it is hard to save when you are actually spending). Even the graphics on the ski with the exception of the name are identical to the Xium's. This ski is built on the same last as the Xium so you can expect it to have the famous stability and edge control that you have come to expect from Rossignol Skate skis.

Rossignol Zymax Skating NIS

The ZyMax NIS Skating comes with the innovative NIS binding plate. The NIS bindings slide onto the binding plate -- no drilling or screws required. You have seven positions to personalize the skis behavior. For those that use the Salomon binding system -- no problem -- we just drill and mount as usual. The ZyMax Skating doesn't skimp on base quality. It is the same K7000 base found on Rossignol's top end models. This is just one reason you won't find another ski from any other brand in this price category that even comes close in performance or features. Like all Rossignol skate skis, they are very stable and fast. Features include: LCD Premium Core (no foam core here) to keep it light and sturdy, Activ' Cap and Extended Control Edge. We flex test every pair so you get a ski that is right for your weight. Great Bases, Great Flex, Great Price! Speed on a budget.
